Sa-Roc and Sol Messiah join a panel talk & cypher for MC’s at Haags Hiphop Centrum.
First Noble Institute, Connect the Dots Movement and Haags Hiphop Centrum bring American artists Sa-Roc and Sol Messiah to The Hague for a conversation about socially conscious Hiphop.
On Friday evening, February 23th from 18:00 till 00:00, a special event will take place in Haags Hiphop Centrum: Raising frequencies & building community. A panel of artists and community activists will discuss finding their way as socially conscious creators in a commercial industry.
Sa-Roc and Sol Messiah, perhaps one of the most powerful duos in the Hip-Hop scene, are also joining the conversation. Sa-Roc is a female MC known for her sharp articulation, powerful delivery and insightful lyrics. In addition to music, she is also an active role model and speaker on health and wellness. Sol Messiah is a world-renowned producer and has produced beats for TLC, Dead Prez and Talib Kweli, among others.
The panel members Sa-Roc, Sol Messiah, YAO, Amby Cheneylise, Gerald & Steven Vreden, share their insights arising from experiences and challenges. They also answer questions from the audience.
After the conversation, DJ Sol Messiah steps behind the turntable to spin beats for a cypher. All MCs in the room are welcome to take the stage and share their power bars. With, of course, strictly conscious lyrics.
