As part of the special program of the Shared History of the World exhibition, Ankhcestory unfolded on December 5, 2024. An unforgettable journey through time, spirit, and storytelling, woven together with a dinner show that nourished both body and soul. In collaboration with Ankhcestory and Shared History of the World, the evening blended live music, theater, and ceremonial rituals to honor our roots and reconnect with ancestral wisdom.
From the deep resonance of Mu-Healing and meditative African drums to the powerful symbolism of the Ankh, every moment was designed to evoke unity, nostalgia, and transformation. More than just an event, Ankhcestory was a homecoming, a space where past and present converged, reminding us of the stories that live within us.
What made the evening even more special was how it brought together people from across the diaspora—different backgrounds, different places, yet all connected through a shared history, culture, and spirit. The stories told, the music played, the rituals performed—it all felt familiar, as if we had gathered in an ancestral space that transcended borders. It was a reminder that no matter where we come from, our roots run deep, and our narratives intertwine.
The experience was further enriched by a five-course dinner prepared by KukruBasi, where each dish was not just food, but a reflection of heritage. Every bite carried the essence of tradition, serving as a bridge between the past and present, just like the stories shared that night.
“This wasn’t just an event—it was a homecoming!”
With deep gratitude, we thank our volunteers, artists, hosts, sponsors, and every single person who contributed to making this night extraordinary. A special thanks to Auset & Ptah Ankh Re for their vision and dedication in bringing this experience to life, and to KukruBasi.
